Vivalon is hiring an Assistant Transportation Manager for our Modesto area operation.
This person will work under the supervision of the Transportation manager and assist in and support our operations including people management, customer service, operations & logistics, fiscal budgeting, and management.
The Assistant Transportation Manager will also be expected to provide leadership and supervision to the transportation staff, Requirements:
Experience with transportation workforce management practices including extra-board staffing and route assignment.
Experience leading a large non-exempt workforce using effective people management skills including hiring, mentoring, development, and accountability.
Experience managing operational metrics including on-time performance, driver overtime, and staff retention.
Ability to communicate effectively with external parties including customers, contractors, and vendors, and internally with staff and leadership.
Strong skills in planning, organization, and prioritization including the ability to manage multiple goals and deadlines.
Ability to anticipate, identify, and creatively solve problems, follow through on solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
Familiarity with DOT pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and Return to Work drug and alcohol testing by urinalysis and breath analysis participation.
Ability to become certified in Reasonable Suspicion training to identify and test employees who exhibit signs of substance abuse.
Computer competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to learn proprietary industry software.
) Education and
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience.
Possession of a California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
If not in possession at the time of hire, Vivalon will provide all training required to attain CDL and Passenger Endorsement with the expectation that the incumbent will acquire within 90 days of hire.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
